It is fascinating to watch Lake Huron begin freezing in the winter. I happened to see some brave mallards swimming in the cold water between ice a few weeks ago, and decided to paint this scene.

This was done in oil over a base of acrylic, with a palette of ultramarine and cerulean blues, titanium white, burnt umber, yellow ochre and cadmium yellow medium.

I like the sparkling texture you got on the foreground snow/ice. It really feeling like the sun is shining on it.
Serene and beautiful 💙
Nice painting of the tiny ducks on the giant lake. It must make some interesting textures to see the ice and water flowing on the lake.
You’re style is beautiful so elegant and intricate!
Very nice
